Toni Childs
Meet the Founder
Antonia “Toni” Childs, fueled by culinary dreams and a passion for survivor advocacy, faced a turning point in her early twenties. Immersed in fighting domestic minor sex trafficking, she dedicated a decade to supporting survivors, balancing advocacy with her desserts catering business, Neet’s Sweets.

The pandemic disrupted Toni’s life, forcing her to pause advocacy, close her business, and rethink her journey. Amidst a weekend of chardonnay and “A Different World” binge-watching, she found inspiration in Hillman College’s theme of growth and self-discovery. Realizing her senior year in college had arrived, Toni envisioned transforming Johnson C. Smith University into her Hillman College.
With newfound determination, she shifted from vicarious living to pursuing her dreams. Investing in her studies, Toni embraced remote learning, turning the virtual classroom into her second home.
Graduation day brought indescribable feelings. Channeling the iconic scenes from “A Different World,” Toni confidently walked the stage, accepting her award with regal pride. As an alumna of Johnson C. Smith University and the Survivor Leadership movement, she represented both with unwavering commitment.
Toni’s narrative evolved from a weekend escape to a tale of personal growth, self-discovery, and achieving dreams against all odds. Her journey embodied the inspirational stories she shared, proving that even in challenging times, dreams could become reality.
